Ok. Wow.
Yesterday Southwest had $153 RT Newark to L.A. and today... this — which absolutely blows that last one away. Just to be clear — this is the absolute cheapest price I have EVER seen to Colorado from Philly. FYI — that NYC-LAX deal from yesterday died at Midnight last night DO NOT assume this one will be here tomorrow. Call the crew, book quick and sort everything out later.

Epic Pass holders ski free at Breck, Vail, A-Basin, Keystone and Beaver Creek. Ikon Pass can ride free at Winter Park, Copper and Eldora. For those of you who DON'T rock one of those passes the cheapest options I could find were on Liftopia at either Arapahoe Basin (Single days from 47% off) or Copper Mountain (5 of 8 days — 51% off).

Trivago has some seriously good deals (30% to 50% off) on Condos / vacation rentals. If you are staying in Breck I HIGHLY recommend the Trails End (which is cheap, ski in ski out, and in many of the below links) which I crashed at last year — Ski in Ski out and walkable to a killer taco spot.

I based the following searches around Breck since you can easily hit Breck / A-Basin / Keyston with the Epic — or cruise to Copper w/Ikon. Also. Breck is awesome. Feel free to click around / explore.

30% to 50% off Lodging search links on Trivago:

There are more dates (that match up with slightly higher $116 RT flights) in March for anyone who wants to go later in the spring — I will be in Breck the week of March 23rd so say what up if you end up out there.

Philly to Colorado is almost always $300+ w/Bags — these cheap ski trips save 70% and get you there Non-Stop on Southwest with Free Ski Bag Fees.

If you're wondering how good Colorado has been lately — here's a solid vote from a few days back by Casey Willax over on YouTube. Worth a follow and definitely worth a watch:

Even though these deals don't really kick off until January there is roughly zero chance the conditions suck by the time you get out there. Breck (for example) already has 38 inches which is easily twice as much as this time last year (if not more).

Cheap Colorado Flight Availability

Most of the best pricing ($96) happens on a week or two in January, another week or two in February and again in March. That being said it's a pretty huge range of options (relative to what we usually see in deals like this).

If you are looking to save a little cash on lodging things start to drop after March 22nd (I'll land in CO March 23rd for that exact reason).

How to Book on Southwest

Since southwest doesn't allow direct links to specific dates, the best way to go about this is to hit the Southwest Low Fare Calendar. From there enter the airport you want to fly from (PHL to DEN) and then select January (alternately February, March):

That should land you on the right calendar. You are looking for the flights that are $49 on the way out there, and $46 or $49 on the way back. Generally the sale covers November through February.

Once you select a date you want to hit continue at which point you are looking for the Non-Stop 'Wanna Get Away' flights (which for some reason are generally cheaper than those with more stops).

Southwest Free Change Fees

One of the best parts about Southwest is that they cover free change fees. That is freaking KEY when you may want to push your reservation around to avoid an incomming Philly side storm — or delay a day or two if you get a big dump at the end of your trip.

This has saved more times than I can count. The Free Ski Bags thing also never hurts.
