This one is nuts. All time cheapest I have ever seen a flight to Colorado from NYC — AND free bag fees to boot. Only caveat on this one is that the cheapest pricing runs for two weeks at the beginning of November — meaning you are probably generally going to be limited to A-Basin (or Loveland) — before bumping up another $30-$50 or so.

Even at the higher price it's a great deal for prime ski season and should be strongly considered — particularly if you snagged an Ikon Pass (free skiing at Aspen/Snowmass, Copper, Winter Park or Eldora) or an Epic Pass (free at Breck, A-Basin, Keystone, Beaver Creek).

On the Breck side of things Ski Colorado Vacation Rentals has 3 Bedroom ski-in-ski-out condos for $135/nt and Studios for $95/nt PLUS 10% off stacking coupon code: HBWT which deducts from those prices — great availability for Opening Weekend in Breckenridge (November 9th).

NYC to Colorado is consistently $275+ and the average has been hovering even higher of late — these cheap ski flights save 60% and get you there Non-Stop on Southwest.

As mentioned the insane thing here is the free ski bags. If you are bring two bags (ie. a rolley bag and your skis / board) that would run you $70 on the way out and $70 on the way back — on United, Delta etc.

Factoring in the price of the bags this one amounts to more like 70% off the regular price. Your carry-on also flies free — unlike Spirit / Frontier and the other discount airlines.

Early Season Colorado

As mentioned the cheapest pricing is the first two weeks in November — which is practically free at $116 Round-Trip ski bags included.

While it's always possible to get burnt early season, we are off to a pretty awesome start with about a foot falling in the last week and generally 10-30 inches over the last few weeks.

I couldn't find any video for this year, but here's a clip from the beginning of November last year (Nov 4th):

Colorado Resort Openings 2018-2019

A-Basin has announced that they will open on October 19th this year and Loveland plans to open the day after — there are some advantages to being up so high — so you are guaranteed to have some place to ride.

If you go a little later into November both Breck and Keystone should also be open — both currently scheduled for November 9th (but keep an eye on it if you end up heading out).

Cheap Breckenridge Ski Lodging (from SCVR)

So last year early season I stayed with the guys at Ski Colorado Vacation Rentals (condo right at the base of Peak 8) and loved every minute of it — some of you guys got in on that some deal I believe (via Expedia).

As luck would have it Ski Colorado has some amazing rates (15% off) that cover Breckenridge opening day weekend (November 9th) AND stacking 10% off coupon code: HBWT which deducts from these prices:

This one just keeps getting better and thanks fly out to SCVR for being rad enough to throw gasoline on what is already a freaking amazing deal. For anyone keeping track this is our very first official HBWT coupon — woot woot.

Coming soon — photos of this past week's dump from the guys at SCVR. I have a call into the crew to see if anyone wants to go in on that 3 bedroom — if you guys don't get to it first.

10% off Transport from DEN Airport

While I was working on the Ski Colorado lodging stuff I noticed that they had a hook up / coupon with Summit Express (shuttle from Denver), you can use Coupon Code: SCVR

How to Book Southwest

Since southwest doesn't allow direct links to specific dates, the best way to go about this is to hit the Southwest Low Fare Calendar. From there enter the airport you want to fly from (LGA to DEN) and then select November (alternately December, January):

That should land you on the right calendar. You are looking for the flights that are $59 on the way out there, and $59 on the way back. Generally the sale covers October through December — before elevating further up to $180-ish.

Once you select a date you want to hit continue at which point you are looking for the Non-Stop 'Wanna Get Away' flights (which for some reason are generally cheaper than those with more stops).

Southwest Free Change Fees

So apologies fly out to anyone who booked that previous $180 Round-trip flight last month. Lucky for all of us it's not going to cost anyone any money. If you booked that previous deal — remember: SOUTHWEST HAS FREE CHANGE FEES!

That means you can re-book / change your reservation to save yourself the cash. Of course the same goes for this deal should something come up that's cheaper (not possible, but you never know I guess).

Cheapest EVER price to Colorado during ski season — or at the very least cheapest since I have been watching on the daily.
