Southwest Airlines has Non-Stop flights w/Free Ski Bags for less than it normally costs to fly your luggage. This is a part of their 'last chance 2017' sale that is supposed to end tonight. No way to know that for sure but if it looks good to you I would book now and ask questions later.

PLUS get 37% off Ski-in-Ski-out Lodging at Beaver Run Resort in Breckenridge, or 40% off lodging at Keystone w/35% Off Lift Tickets at A-Basin. First flight availability is next week.

Atlanta to Denver has been running $250ish counting ski baggage fees — these cheap flight save almost 70% and get you there on Southwest Airlines.

With Frontier and Spirit dominating the low priced flights, and everyone else charging $25 for the first bag and $35 for the second, it's hard to fly anywhere to ski and have your checked bags cost less than $100.

The fact that Southwest doesn't charge for the first two checked bags and doesn't charge extra for skis makes this the best price we have seen to Colorado from Atlanta all year.

Cheap Breckenridge Lodging

So Breck is usually WAY expensive in early January (300+ per night) but there are actually a few really solid deals this time around. The best one that I found was over on Trivago at Beaver Run (30% off) which is Slopeside and has it's own lift 50 or so feet from the door.

If you book make sure you match up the dates, price above is for the second week in Jan, per the date in the image.

I stayed just down the street a couple of weeks ago and it is by far one of my favorite Breck locations since it is both ski-in-ski-out and also walkable to town without needing to worry about the whole Gondola transfer deal.

While it didn't snow until the 6 inches that came down the day I left, the conditions were great anyway as the snow guns were cranking day and night. Here's one of my shots on the way up the Beaver Run chair.

Cheap Keystone Lodging

If you want a cheaper place to crash you can hit up the Alpine Slopes Inn which is currently listed 40% off on Trivago for $120/nt and is about half a mile to Keystone.

If you do that you might want to snag discount Lift Tickets at A-Basin instead, those are also ~35% off but much cheaper to start with.

How to Book

Southwest doesn't let us create links directly to each set of possible flights, but they DO have a great flexible flight calendar which lists all of the cheap flights from Atlanta per month.

  1. Hit Southwest's Flexible Fare Calendar
  2. Enter 'ATL' as your Departure City / Airport and 'DEN' as your Destination City / Airport.
  3. Select your Months. The cheapest ski flight availability happens in January.
  4. Hit search and then select your dates from the Calendar.

The flights you are trying to find are $40 each way ($80 total). Once you enter the information above you will see a fare map that looks like this where you can select your dates and book with SW:

All flights on Southwest have zero bag fees which is really what makes this deal so unreal.
