Pretty awesome Non-Stop Swiss Air spring time flights to Switzerland with a few great Lodging options with 30% to 40% discounts and stacking $25 off $250 Expedia coupon combined with 40% off Engelberg Lift Tickets. Swiss Air promotes itself as 'The Skiiers Airline' which works out since these flights get you there just as the temps warm up and the bluebird skies rain supreme in the Alps.
Plus your Lift Tickets and Lodging are Guaranteed / refundable should there not be enough snow for your early April trip.
Boston to Zurich generally runs $800+ Non-Stop during ski season — these cheap flights save more than 50% and get you there Non-Stop on Swiss Air.
Most of this stuff happens around the beginning of April / Late March meaning a lot of resorts are gearing down for the season and most of the crowds have started to disperse. It also means there are some absolutely killer deals on lodging and the strong possibility that some of last years lift ticket deals will pop back up at some of Switzerland's best resorts.
Unlike British Airways who recently changed their Ski-Bags as Free-Bags policy to cost roughly $100USD each way, Swiss Air still allows you to count your skis / boards / poles as one of your free luggage allotment pieces. Always good to support the airlines that make skiing and riding a priority to make sure those BA prices don't become standard industry wide.
Cheap Switzerland Ski Lodging
Ok. In case you haven't heard, Switzerland is not the cheapest country to ski in Europe. In fact it is one of the most expensive as far as cost of living food etc. That being said if it is on your list, this is a great opportunity to hit it as cheap as you can hope for (late season).
Engelberg does have a pretty awesome package available for lift ticekts + lodging the problem is that the promotion ends on March 31st which is generally when most of these flights leave. I am waiting for word back on whether they expect to extend that promo further into April which would make this deal even more killer.
For reference Engelberg didn't close until May 21st this past season.
While we wait here are some good options at Expedia (use code HOTEL25 for $25 off $250 coupon):
There are also some great rates on 4 Star Hotels on the official Engelberg website that are covered by their Money Back guarantee (should there not be enough snow). Four stars for $100 EUR a night is a great price:
Cheap Switzerland Lift Tickets
One of the coolest things about Engelberg (particularly for spring ski trips) is that they have a Money Back Guarantee on your lift and lodging should there not be enough snow available for whatever reason.
Keep in mind that if you want the guarantee to cover your lodging you should book your hotel at Engelberg's guarantee page as opposed to Expedia or wherever. That being said some of the best hotel discounts happen elsewhere and as the guarantee implies, there is a VERY small chance of there not being killer snow in early April given that Engelberg didn't close until the end of May the last few seasons.
Lift Tickets / Passes for a week run around $390 USD, assuming you want to ski all 7 days, which isn't the cheapest but $55 USD per lift ticket is 40% off the normal price. You also get the run of all of the Engelberg resorts plus some of the best backcountry / freeride terrain in the world. As mentioned your tickets are guaranteed and refundable should there not be enough snow to ride (won't happen).
