Non-Stop on Air Canada, insane good exchange rate AND 30% off Ski-in-Ski-Out Lodging @ Sunshine Village free Lift Tickets included from SkiBig3. There are also some great rooms available for 40% off with Stacking $25 off $250 coupon code at Expedia and you can pickup Four Free Ski Lift Tickets (to be used over a week) when you combine the above with a Sunshine Village Super Card.

NY/NJ to Calgary (Non-Stop) is almost always $450+ — these cheap flights save more than 50% and get you there Non-Stop on Air Canada.

Just when I thought flights to Calgary couldn't get any cheaper Air Canada decides to drop that already killer price by another 20% — $221 is the cheapest non-stop flight I have ever seen to the Canadian Rockies, and not a moment too soon, most lodging options still have their pre-season discount options available until November 30th.

If you haven't already added Banff in your top 5 best spots to ski list, it belongs there, get on that:

To give you an idea of just how good a deal this is, here are the competing airline options you could alternately choose to go with:

Air Canada—$221
Alaska Airlines—$463
American Airlines—$480
ANA (All Nippon Airways)—$6,349
Delta—$327
Finnair—$4,974
Lufthansa—$4,072

Even Delta's newly launched sale doesn't get them anywhere close AND that $327 Delta flight isn't even non-stop.

Cheap Banff Ski Lodging

On lodging most of the best stuff I could find comes in from our friends at SkiBig3.com and is generally based around a 30% discount they are offering for bookings before November 30th.

Sort by 4 star hotels and then by price to track down the Caribou Lodge. A few of my favorite options are at or around $100/nt USD which is amazing given that the main strip in Banff looks something like this:

Personally I think that these three are the best bang for your buck, prices listed are CAD, look just below the first one for the USD conversion price (roughly 20% - 25% exchange rate discount).

Ski In Ski Out

If you really want to go big that 30% off also applies to bucket list ski and stay packages at the 4 Star Sunshine Mountain Lodge — the only ski in ski out hotel in Banff and by far the most epic option if you have the cash available. Still a great deal at $297/nt USD considering it includes two lift tickets per day (and puts you right on the mountain).

Given that you can count on two lift tickets running at least $180 the Sunshine Mountain Lodge is actually pretty close to in-line with some of the other options since it includes your passes in the price.

More on discount Lift Tickets in a minute...

40% off PLUS $25 off $250

For those who would prefer to book with someone in the U.S. Expedia DOES still have a $25 off $250 coupon active (coupon code: HOTEL25), Brewster's at 41% off (BEFORE coupon) is the best option for a cheap place to crash if you would prefer to book on Expedia:

Generally the benefit of booking with SkiBig3.com is the exchange rate is factored at more what it should be. Expedia and most of the other sites generally just swap the price to USD and you therefore eat the benefit of the currently very positive +25% USD to CAD exchange.

Cheap Sunshine Village Ski Lift Tickets

For those who aren't interested in doing some leg work to get an even more insane deal you can simply hit SkiBig3.com, they are offering 15 - 30% off multi-day passes over here:

Sunshine Super Card: 4 Free Ski Days

Sunshine Village offers something similar to the discount pass cards you can pickup at Stratton / Killington etc for $99 CAD. The main difference being that picking up that pass gets you your first, fourth and seventh day of skiing free. PLUS it gets you $25 off your lift tickets Mid-Week for the rest of the season at both Sunshine AND Marmot Basin.

So. For anyone thinking about going for a week, who isn't booking the Ski-In-Ski-Out package, here's how that math would work out:

$99 CAD for Sunshine Super Card (comes with 3 Free Lift Tickets: Day 1, Day 4, Day 7 of your trip).

That leaves you needing to buy 4 additional lift tickets (each of which is discounted by $25 assuming it's midweek) ADULT (Ages: 18+): $109.00 CAD - $25 = 84CAD

$336 CAD 4x Sunshine Village Lift Tickets: $84 CAD x 4 = $336 CAD (for Days 2, 3, 5, 6)

Total = $435CAD -> $342 USD (after exchange rate discount)

That is a killer deal even compared to the current 30% off 5 day Sunshine Village multi-day pass rate which goes for $495 CAD and only includes 5 days of skiing.

The same concept also works for 4 day trips since you can use the free two lift tickets you get with your Sunshine Super Card on Day 1 and Day 4.

You also get:

  1. BONUS FREE day at either Winsport, Snow Valley or Rabbit Hill and 50% off additional ski/riding visits at Winsport, Snow Valley or Rabbit Hill.
  2. Receive special savings with participating hotels and restaurants.
  3. FREE direct to lift upgrade which allows cardholders to directly skip ticket lines and head straight to the lift.
  4. 10% off lowest posted rate at Sunshine Mountain Lodge all year long (just in case we find another deal like this)

It IS a little bit YMMV (your mileage may vary) as I am still waiting for confirmation on whether or not my math is right, but it sure seems like it is. Heck you could even ski your 8th day Free at Winsport (since you get one of those with your card) which actually looks pretty fun:
