Not often at all that you can get all the way to OZ without paying a surfboard fee. While this would be a deal even without that bonus, board fees to Australia generally total $300-$400 Round trip.
NY/NJ to Sydney, or Brisbane generally runs $1200 with Board Fees of another $300-400. This gets you there with One Stop on Quantas for ~45% less.
Since I have been looking it has not once been cheaper to get to Australia with boards, and this comes at a time when you get an additional 20% to 30% off everything you buy while there due to favorable USD exchange rates.
The most insane part of this deal is the fact that you can gauge your trip departure based on the best possible season for swell at your favored destination. This deal includes Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne so your chances to score waves someplace you have been dreaming of for years (or at least I have) are nearly 100%.
Quantas is one of the only airlines left that offers Free Board Bags (although they recently restricted this to bags 6'5'' or less, containing two boards) and we RARELY get Quantas deals here on the east coast.
Since you are headed down in the summer (Australia summer) be aware, it will be crowded. On the flip side, you also have a SOLID chance at Typhoon swell rolling your way and for that reason I would lean toward Brisbane / the Gold Coast.
Since this deal is HOT I am going to fore-go too much chatter and work to just get it out ASAP.
Book Your Flight
As usual I am adding a few options for those of you who haven't subscribed yet (you should it's free):
There are also way more options for Supporters because, well, they subscribed, they support us and we support them and that's pretty awesome.
As three guys running a self-funded quasi-startup working from home we can use all the support we can get.
Subscriber Only Flights
Email Supporters (free to subscribe) got these additional exclusive options:
Subscribe as an Email Supporter, as mentioned it's free and you get latest deals for your region as they come out, along with exclusive subscriber only flights that don't go public.
Per usual one airline dropping their price has a knock on effect on the industry. That being said take a look at the difference between the duration / stops with Quantas vs Delta (and then remember that taking that Delta flight would cost you $600 to bring two boards):
Sometimes these deals do die. If the link above doesn't get you the right price... subscribe!
Subscribers get more dates / flight options and an early heads up. The sooner you know the deal exists, the sooner you can jump on and book: getting in early means you pay less for every trip you take.
